Beith Juniors FC

Beith Juniors were formed in 1938 following the disbanding of Beith FC who played in the Scottish Football League. The Mighty play at Bellsdale Park, Beith and play in the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division at tier 6 of the Scottish FA pyramid.

Notable ex-players include:

> Steve Clarke (St Mirren, Chelsea & current Scotland Manager)

> Derek Hamilton (Aberdeen, St Mirren)

> Ken Armstrong (Kilmarnock, Southampton, Notts County, Birmingham)

> Eddie Moore (Ayr Utd)

> Hugh Murney (Morton, Dumbarton)

 

Did you know.....

Beith Juniors are believed to be the first junior side to take part in a European tour when they travelled to the Netherlands & played 3 games in July 1965 & were unbeaten. Rumours that Beith were the inspiration for the Dutch total football approach haven’t been confirmed.
